Making It In America

The news is full of woe and doom.  The economy seems to be crashing around our feet and it looks like things won’t get better for years to come.  Personally, I do not want to wait for years to come to enjoy my life!  How about you?

I am making a pledge to myself to seek out pleasures that will fill the hours of my day without emptying my pockets or sending me to the poor house.  Without spending a dime I can:

Read a book, borrow a movie from the library, go for a hike, talk to a friend, help a neighbor, play with the young people in my life, kiss my husband, go sailing on a boat, swim in the lake, sit on the shore and watch the waves, explore the night sky, sing a song, write a story, fly a paper airplane.  I can attend free concerts and speeches, listen to the radio, ride my bike, take a walk around the neighborhood, volunteer at the hospital, animal shelter, food bank or thrift store.  I can take pictures with my digital camera, and play with them on my computer.  What can you do for free fun  in your life?  Think about it and then go do it!
